More Than Books. More Than Activities.

More Than Parenting Advice.

We are building a generation of Muslim children who love Allah, cherish their deen, and carry it with confidence wherever life takes them.

At Tarbiyah4Kids, we create stories, resources, and experiences that help Muslim children grow in faith while supporting the mothers guiding them every step of the way.

As salamu alaykum, Dear Mama!

I’m Heebatullah Zakariyah.

An early childhood educator, a child and Islamic psychology enthusiast, and a mother who believes that raising confident Muslims isn't about parenting from fear but building connection and emotional restraint.

This Moment Changed My Perspective On Parenting

Picture this: I was sitting in the car with my baby girl, just watching the world go by, when a car pulled up right beside us, and two young girls stepped out. They were beautiful with long black hair, crop tops, blue nail polish, and a completely gothic look. They did not look white, so I was curious.

Then I felt eyes on me.

I looked toward the back of their car and saw an older woman sitting in the rear seat, wearing a full hijab. Our eyes met through the glass. I whispered, “As-salamu alaykum.”

She nodded back, “Wa alaykum salam,” but her eyes were filled with the most profound sadness I had ever seen. And she looked at me as though to communicate her helplessness.

We were in the same shoes: a Muslim mother from another part of the world living in the West.

So, as I looked back and forth between that heartbroken mother and her daughters (who had completely detached from their Islamic and even cultural identity), I thought: I do not want this for my child.

But hope, without action, changes nothing.

Why Rules Alone Are Not Enough

Many of us grew up surrounded by stories, characters, games, and entertainment that shaped the way we saw the world.

Disney was the absolute status quo.

  • Because those movies were so incredibly fun, we normalised their hidden ideologies without even realising it.

  • We swallowed narratives that made self-gratification look beautiful, hedonism look accessible, and dating look completely casual.

  • Mainstream media teaches our children a single, dangerous lesson: Do whatever makes you happy.

But as Muslims, we want them to pass every decision through the filter of đŸ“©

Would this be pleasing to Allah?                  Would this be pleasing to Allah?                  Would this be pleasing to Allah?                  Would this be pleasing to Allah?

And That Is the Mission of TarbiyahForKids

Because we cannot protect our children’s fitrah by just handing them a long, dry list of rules and yelling "fear Allah!" whenever they mess up.

Fear alone doesn't hold a teenager back when temptation hits. Taqwa and self-restraint do.

In super summary, I am on a mission to spark a Sunnah parenting revolution with books, games, and spaces where Islamic values are the "cool thing”, because I believe:

Ones where children associate faith with safety, joy, and unconditional love from childhood all the way to adulthood.

  • Faith Should Feel Beautiful: We want children to experience Islam as a source of love, purpose, guidance, and a sense of belonging.

  • Fun And Faith Belong Together: Children learn best when they are engaged, curious, and enjoying themselves.

  • Mothers Need Support Too: There is no tarbiyah for children without tarbiyah for the mothers raising them.

  • Tarbiyah Is For A Lifetime: The goal is not short-term compliance from our kids, but a joyful connection with Allah that continues into adulthood.

The Professional Stuff (For Your Peace of Mind)

I didn't just wake up one day and decide to do this.

I started my journey with a degree in Health Education, where I completely fell in love with mental health. I spent years working as an early childhood educator, fascinated with watching young brains grow and their imaginations expand.

When I moved to Finland—a country globally celebrated for having one of the absolute best educational curricula in the world—I knew this was my calling.

I deep-dived into their systems, completed a certification in early childhood education for foreigners, and even managed to learn the Finnish language up to a basic speaking form.

Did I mention years of gruelling training in creative writing, too?

Anyhoo! To make sure my work is anchored in both prophetic tradition and modern science, I am currently completing my Islamic and Child Psychology certification.

Want Some Random, Slightly Quirky Facts About Me?

  • The Undisputed Banana Bread Queen: I make the absolute best banana bread on the entire planet. Bold statement? Yes. Accurate? 100%.

  • I Talk to Flowers (and Animals): Yes, people think it’s weird, but I can’t help it! I see them as part of Allah's gorgeous creation, and instinctively feel the need to say taslim to them.

  • The Quadrilingual Mama: I speak four languages. I didn't think it was a fun fact because "lots of people do it," but my team forced me to put it on here anyway.

  • There is a Movie Theatre in my Head: My imagination is so vivid that I talk to myself constantly and literally act out movies in my head.
